MESSAGE FROM LUCINDA ELLERY Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all our lovely clients. Time seems to go so fast, it seems only yesterday that I was wrapping gifts or choosing Christmas cards. It is truly a gift and a pleasure that we have many of you back year after year, the relationships and friendships we have built just fills my heart with such joy. I want to extend a big welcome to those new to the Lucinda Ellery family. I would like to start by thanking you for all the letters, feedback, comments, cards, chocolates, flowers we have received from you, it’s always great for my team to know we are doing a good job and that you are leaving and living happy  due  to  services  you have experienced here. Well for me personally it has been such a busy but brilliant time. Travelling between our UK and USA studio’s has certainly given me a bigger insight into how hair loss and TTM is affecting millions of ladies, yet still the spot light on these issues has not yet been fully lit. At Lucinda Ellery Consultancy we do our best to shine as much light on the issues and challenges faced by hair loss. evening we held here at our studio in London. What a night. Inspirational women, those who have overcome, those who are in the process and those just beginning their journey of understanding you can live, survive and thrive with TTM. The evening was blessed further with the awe inspiring Katie Piper, Esther McVey and Sarah Vine, delivering what were truly memorable speeches, reminding me and those present that life does go on and how we all hold the power within us, to overcome life’s hurdles no matter how hopeless we feel the situation is. Anyway more of this tremendous evening to come later. POSITIVE THOUGHTS GENERATE POSITIVE FEELINGS AND ATTRACT POSITIVE LIFE EXPERIENCES We have been fortunate enough to have many events this quarter not only the TTM evening but also a fabulous ‘glam up’ evening for our team here at the London studio. Top celebrity make up artist, Buster Knight came along to give a make up master class to our girls as well as share tricks and tips to get the look you need with the latest products. Pop up nail bar by the amazing Art Deco went down a treat and we also had stylist to the stars, including the amazing Florence and the Machine, Christina Adam sharing her style tips for 2014, discussing the right style for your body shape as well as statement jewellery. Goodie bags were in abundance with some fantastic gifts from the amazing Art Deco, Como Shambhala and L’Oreal. We will all be looking glam throughout this festive period that is for sure. A huge thank you to Chloe Jasmine (The Face, Naomi Campbell Team) for all your efforts to help create a most memorable evening. The team had a fabulous night, thanks to Priya our new Operations Manager who initiated and managed the event. USA has been a focal point for us this year, with our profile building, the LA team have been extremely busy, clients and enquiries havebeen flooding in and for one I am very excited about the Lucinda Ellery USA venture. Micky is now looking to expand her team in the states to ensure all clients and enquiries are responded to and dealt with as a priority. It makes me very happy to see the team in LA growing from strength to strength, such a wonderful team. I was also privileged enough to be asked to appear on The Today Show in New York. Maybe some of you saw it? I was a guest on the show talking about hair loss and ways in which we can disguise thinning hair; it was a four minute slot on the most viewed TV show in America. I look forward to shedding more light on our cause both in the states and at home in the coming months. Going into 2014 we are looking to open a new site in the UK which we hope to be well underway by this time next year as well as a potential expansion into New York. We will ensure you all know what’s what as and when it happens. And finally remember that Christmas means fellowship, feasting, giving and receiving, a time of good cheer so enjoy. Dear Lucinda, It is with gratitude that I write this email. You, Micky, Mari and the rest of your staff have changed my life. I'm in love with my hair. It is beautiful and completely natural. I love to touch it and fluff it around. Before I had to be careful not to "mess it up" because of my spots with no hair and thinning would show. I could hardly wait to get home and let my family see my incredible hair. I knew they would be blown away because it looked better than even I had imagined. They were all smiles, hugs and kisses. Happy, that I was happy and maybe a little proud of their Mom. I'm sure it was embarrassing for them too to have me losing my hair and I worried about that. I surprised myself the morning of the appointment, I had a little anxiety not about my decision for the Intralace but of the unknown ....how was it going to feel, what about the colour matching etc. I was completely assured by the staff that this was all normal. Once we got started I was fine and totally comfortable throughout the entire process. There is so much attention to detail, it is checked and rechecked to make sure the alignment and placement is exactly right on your head and the colour just right. The colour came out so fabulous, my daughter who is a cosmetologist was very impressed. The cut, again my daughter, loved it as much as I do. Really, right away I adjusted to the Intralace being in my hair. I had been accustomed to wearing clip in hair pieces all over my head and it is a relief not to worry about those anymore. One of the best things that has happened to me since I have had this done was at my son and daughter in law's house. When I was showing them my hair, my granddaughter Luci asked if she could put it in a ponytail. Of course I let her and when I left her house she came running to the door and said "Gramma. Gramma. Can you come over tomorrow and play beauty shop with me?" Guess what my answer was? I believe we all have gifts and talents and it’s up to us to find out what they are and develop them. Lucinda has found hers in that she can help others feel good about themselves again, giving their confidence back and taking away a stumbling block so they can progress too. I'm so thankful I found her. I know my life will be fuller and richer because of her. This year International No Pulling week was a great success. On the 27th September a TTM evening was held at our London studio in celebration of International No Pulling Week. I would like to personally thank our special guests and the beautiful and inspirational woman who all took the time to attend our very special and wonderful evening.   Dax (UK Studio Director) To my wonderful son Dax who has taken such an interest in helping my younger TTM ladies. I didn’t ask, he took it upon himself to offer support to these beautiful hair pullers. Thank you Dax, when I am gone you will hold my light for the girls, I am so delighted and grateful. Katie Piper (Award Winning Inspirational Woman of the Year) Well Katie just makes me want to cry, she is just so awesome, you can feel her essence within feet of being in her presence. We all know how badly damaged she was by having acid thrown in her face, blind in one eye and over 250 operations to rebuild her face and she has still turned her life around in the most devastating circumstances. She deserves every accolade there is out there, working tirelessly to help others move their lives forward by her words of strength and comfort. It would be hard to measure the psychological and emotional period that she has been through, but she still works, shares and brightens us all. Thank you Katie for your help in highlighting the issues surrounding TTM and the lack of support and education out there, bless you and your little baby soon arriving, another welcome addition to the world. I know the ladies thoroughly enjoyed meeting you and felt honoured to have your book ‘Things Get Better’ signed personally. Katie Piper, not only an outstanding ‘woman of achievement’ but an outstanding woman of the world.   Sarah Vine (Joualist – Daily Mail)   A BIG thank you to Sarah, she works her socks off and has a husband and young family and still made time to come and support our TTM evening. Sarah Vine has been an amazing inspiration to us. She has helped highlight hair loss through her fabulous writings and radio reach. It was interesting to note that she played down her own hair loss by telling us that she had been ok, she had her arms, legs and she can see and hear. What strikes me now and always is that as women with critical hair loss, we feel on some level that we should count our blessings and that somehow losing our hair and feeling terrible about it, goes some way to us being as shallow as a puddle because it is so traumatising, but we need to get a grip. It is just not authentic, if it matters to you then it matters, it is such a deep and profound loss that to own it and describe it is almost impossible. From sexuality, longevity, femininity and all the things we need for a full experience of life which is difficult and challenging enough without feeling bad about ourselves. So girls, it is natural to feel crap about losing our hair, it truly is linked to our wellbeing and IT’S OK that we don’t feel good about it, that’s authentic.     Esther McVey (MP Minister of State for Employment) A truly amazing and inspirational woman, Esther makes me speechless and that is hard to do. I can’t thank her enough for lending her support to the subject of TTM. As always she is positively a brilliant speaker and light for the world. I have had the privilege of knowing this truly amazing young lady and watching her grow in every way over the last 20 years. When I say she is a leading light that is putting it mildly. She has poured her energy and life working tirelessly for her fellow man and for the people of this country. She also built and ran her own company, whilst she was campaigning to be elected for her constituency and at the same time also embarked on a Masters degree in Corporate Governance achieving the highest marks in the North. All in 16 months flat. She is a wonderful woman with a truly good soul, gifted with brains and beauty and a wonderful heart filled with doing good for all. Dedicated to others and making this a better world to live in. So to you Esther our grateful appreciation for all that you do and all that you are.
